Story Telling and Problem Solving
Amiera is passionate about storytelling in all its forms, with a strong focus on theatre, writing, and character development. She enjoys musical theatre and anime, and often explores characters and worlds through Dungeons & Dragons and theatre games.
She has strong skills in improv, rapid accent acquisition, and collaborative problem-solving, which support her versatility both on stage and in group settings. She is recognized for her range across performance, technical crew roles, academic achievement in Drama, and leadership positions such as Props Lead and Assistant Director.
Her performance experience includes playing “Angel” in a Grease production in 8th grade and having an original 10-minute play selected and performed by her troupe in her senior year as part of “ON TOUR.” Earlier in her development, she performed violin at Carnegie Hall in 5th grade and served as a host, reflecting early confidence and stage presence.
She is also interested in language and accents, with conversational French, conversational Mandarin, and a strong understanding of Haitian Creole, and enjoys exploring how speech patterns reflect culture and identity.
Alongside performance, she engages in a variety of creative and hands-on hobbies including drawing, photography, crochet, and visiting museums, as well as physical activities like ice skating and rollerblading.
Amiera has a strong academic and creative interest in theatre and performance studies, including interdisciplinary work that connects language, culture, and history. This includes exploring non-Western influences such as Tang and Ming Dynasty aesthetics for the Costume Design competition at the Hofstra Shakespeare Festival, as well as broader Theatre and Chinese studies.
She is particularly interested in how storytelling, language, and performance inform one another, and thrives in collaborative, interdisciplinary environments that combine artistic practice with academic exploration.
